*Aayah 75*

(O Mu'mineen) Do you still hope that they (the Jews) will have Imaan for your sake when there is a party from them (their Rabbis as well as those who went to Mount Toor with Moosa and heard Allaah speak) who listen to Allaah's speech (the Torah) and then purposely alter it after Understanding it? (Entertain no such hopes because they will not follow you in Imaan.)

`Aishah (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever usurps unlawfully even a hand span of land a collar measuring seven times (this) land will be placed around his neck on the Day of Resurrection".

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

This Hadith tells us that even a minor injustice to anybody in this world can cause great trouble on the Day of Resurrection.

Weekly Q & A

Question and Answer:

Q. My husband and I have adopted two children. We are now divorcing due to certain issues. Are the Islamic custodial rulings for adopted children the same as biological children?

(Question published as received)

A. The general rights and laws of custody (Haqq-ul-Hadhaanah) does not apply to adopted or fostered children. There are no fixed principles governing the rights of custody of adopted children in the case of divorce between spouses. Therefore, in this regard, the couple should discuss the matter and reach a mutual agreement in the best interest of the children. (Shaami 3/556)
