SURAH TWO AL-BAQARAH

THE BULL

Aayah 51

(Remember also the time) When We fixed forty nights for Moosa (AS) (after which We gave him the Torah), then you (the Bani Israa'eel) started worshipping the calf (which Saamiri crafted for you) after he (Moosa) had departed, (thereby) acting most unjustly (by worshipping something besides Allaah).

ON RECOMMENDING GOOD AND THE REWARD FOR CALLING TO GUIDANCE OR MISGUIDANCE

Abu Huraira (May Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Whoever calls to guidance will get the like of the rewards of those who followed him, and nothing will be diminished from their rewards. And whoever calls to misguidance will get the like of the burdens of those who followed him, and nothing will be diminished from their burdens."

Question:

How many types of Sunnah are there:

Answer:

Two types:

2. Sunnah Ghair Mu'akkadah:

This is an act that Rasulullaah ﷺ did most of the time, but which he sometimes left out without an excuse. A person will gain more reward for this act than he would gain for a Mustahab act, but will not be sinful if he leaves them out. These are also referred to as Sunan e Zawaa'id.

A. Qurbani is Wajib (compulsory) on every Muslim who is:

a) Of sound mind – and mature (has reached the age of puberty),
b) Non-Traveller (i.e. Muqeem - not a Shari’ traveller)
c) Possesses the Nisaab amount (612.36 grams of silver) or its equivalent value i.e. MK479,000 as of 20/06/2022, after deducting one’s basic necessities and debts, on any of the three days of Qurbani, i.e. 10th, 11th and 12th of Zul Hijjah.
