🍇🍇 *NABEEDH : SUNNAH TONIC MADE WITH EITHER RAISINS OR DATES*
🍇 Nabeedh was one of the common drinks consumed by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam). It is made either with *dates or raisins,* but raisin Nabeedh is more refreshing especially in summer.
🍇 Ummul Mu’minin, ‘Aisha (Radiallahu Anna) would steep rasins or dates for the Apostle of Allah (SalAllahu ‘alaihi Wa sallam) *in the morning. When the evening came, he took his dinner and drank it after his dinner.* If anything remained, *she poured it out.* She then would steep for him at night. When the morning came, he took his morning meal and drank it after his morning meal. (Sunan Abu Dawood)
🍇🍇 Softened raisins release their vitamins and minerals more easily and are easier to digest. Manaqqa’ yellows are the best variety of raisins for making Nabeedh. *Our A-Grade organic fleshy rasins are carefully chosen from the best vineyards of the Cape to provide the most nutritional drink.*
🍋It is an *alkalizing tonic*, having the tendency to remove acidity from the stomach and digestive system.
🍋It helps to remove other *metabolic wastes* from the body.
🍋It improves *digestion as it’s high in soluble fibre*.
🍋It strengthens the *memory*.
🍋It assists the *spleen function, liver, throat, chest and prostate*, and so is particularly good for men.
🍋 Nabeedh will also benefit patients of *Arthritis and elevated levels of Uric Acid* (gout).
*HOW TO PREPARE NABEEDH?*
🍇 After Isha, soak a few raisins in a cup of water, and keep the utensil covered with a plate. Next morning, drink the water, & eat the soaked fruit. Do the same for the evening.
❌❌👉 Leaving the raisins for more than a day may cause it to *ferment, especially in hot weather. This may become intoxicating*, thus prohibited. But if it is kept air-tight inside a refrigerator, it will not spoil for 2-3 days. *Don’t consume it at all after 3 days,* but discard it. (Sahih Muslim Book 23 Hadith 4974)
❌ Never mix raisins & dates together; their Nabeedh should be made separately.
🍇🍇 Serve *cold Nabeedh to your guests instead of tea, coffee, juices and sodas*, and explain to them the beauty of the Sunnah.
